Here is how it works: * An Afghan citizen who legally marries a Pakistani woman does not automatically become a Pakistani citizen through marriage. * He may be allowed to live in Pakistan if he has the appropriate visa, residence permit, or other legal immigration status, but he must comply with Pakistan’s immigration laws. * Pakistani citizenship is not granted automatically based on marriage alone. Any application for citizenship or long-term residence must follow the procedures and requirements under Pakistan’s citizenship and immigration laws. * There have been court cases concerning the rights of foreign husbands of Pakistani women, including Afghan nationals, but the legal position has been subject to litigation and judicial review. Therefore, marriage by itself does not guarantee Pakistani citizenship.
