@oliver.merrick: My AI isn't smarter than yours. It just has more context, in a more accessible way. That's the whole trick behind an AI-native business. Everyone jumps straight to autonomous agents, then wonders why the output is generic. You skipped the foundation. Here are the 5 phases I actually run: 1. Audit. Stolen from how Musk runs SpaceX. Document every step in the business. Delete what you don't need. Simplify what's left. Never automate a mess. 2. Document. Pick a second brain. Notion, Obsidian, plain markdown files. Every procedure, tool and person goes in. This is what your AI plugs into. 3. Execute. Claude Code is my daily driver. One CLAUDE.md file that understands the whole business, split into departments: marketing, revenue, operations, finance. Each has its own skills, all connected to the data. 4. Delegate. Each department becomes an agent with its own instructions and tools. They execute the workflows you mapped in phase one. 5. Automate. A heartbeat on the Mac Mini every 30 minutes. Scheduled tasks. Triggers: someone books my calendar, a sale lands, an email arrives, and the right agent runs the right workflow. Then it compounds. Pick the outputs that move the business. Content. Sales. Give the AI a goal, the data, and the playbook from phase one, and it runs. The models are basically equal now. Context is the only moat left. Skip the foundation and you're just triggering prompts. Build it and you own an operating system. Save this, then go document one process today.
