Salt Sauce Pork & Green Onion Udon (1 Serving) Udon ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Ingredients - 1 frozen udon noodle pack - 100–150 g thinly sliced pork belly - White or green onion, as much as you like (highly recommended!) - 1 clove garlic - 1 tsp sesame oil - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste - White sesame seeds, optional Salt Sauce - 1½ tsp chicken bouillon powder - A pinch to ¼ tsp salt (adjust to taste) - 1 tsp lemon juice (optional, but recommended) - 2–3 tbsp water - 1 tsp soy sauce (for extra depth of flavor) ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Instructions 1. Microwave the frozen udon according to the package instructions. 2. Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan over low heat and sauté the sliced garlic until fragrant. 3. Add the pork belly and cook until lightly browned, then add the green onions. 4. Pour in all the salt sauce ingredients and let everything simmer together briefly. 5. Add the cooked udon and toss until evenly coated with the sauce. 6. Finish with black pepper, white sesame seeds, and extra green onions. Tips - A little lemon juice makes it taste just like restaurant-quality udon. - Don't be shy with the black pepper—it really brings out the flavor. - A soft-boiled or onsen egg makes it even more satisfying.
