Toyota made a massive mistake by using the smaller engine with turbos. Just looking at the current market, turbo engines are by far less reliable than most NA engines. if they would have invested in a new V8 they might not have been in this position. and the fact hey still refuses to build a new v8 says alot.

Doesn’t cost Toyota much at all . Warranty work is compensated back to dealer thru parts credit .

My Tacoma had to have a total engine rebuild at 119,000. A piece of the stock intake broke off and got sucked into the engine. When I asked Toyota for help because this was clearly a manufacturing defect, they denied my request.
