geography is undervaluated in history ! balkans are high mountains ! an army cannot cross them easely. but when they arrived in otranto from albania ( only 60 km distance) , there was no obstacle till Rome, south italy has no mountain !

Christianity in Western Rome was fought much more prominent and atrocious than in the eastern part. Catholicism as a persona cult of martyrs differs to the Roman Orthodox church. The first papa was Siricius of Rome at 385 AD! There may have been an early weakening Catholic civil uprising in Italy, poorly documented because it was led by the lower class.
