A decision game should not have a game over screen.

The point of games like this isn’t to control the story, you’re controlling how the story is told. The game plays out as it’s written but your job as the player is to influence the character, how they act and react and how the characters around you think about you.

that's what made Detroit become human so special, all your choices did matter than there were loads of endings

With the telltale series, I feel like it is about the journey and not the destination. The actions I take the people I've talked to change the story for me, in the way, I look at everything.Sure , there might be a character that is guaranteed to die , but it doesn't mean it's pointless

people forget that this was an indie game made in 2010 and didn’t have nearly the budget like Detroit become human had

like in real life? where sometimes no matter what you do things end up the same? wow. I really don't get this criticism. The whole point is the journey, just like real life. if we couldn't replay it, if we couldn't go back, we would never know. Just like real life. sometimes the whole point is that your decisions matter for a while, But they might not change the destination you are headed to. or at least not change it for others, but only for yourself

that’s why I love mass effect and dragon age so much! In my opinion, they perfected the “choice-driven” narrative and were able to do it over the course of SEVERAL games. There are literally whole characters missing from later installments because you chose to kill them off in earlier games, and the entirety of the dialogue surrounding their characters is missing as well

I get where this is coming from but disregarding the journey because the destination is the same completely misses the point of a story, how a character dies shapes how you perceive an ending just as much as the death itself.

It is about the journey, not the destination !! When story games use all their budget on the sheer volume of all outcomes, the writing takes a hit (dark pictures games). I like the more polished writing and pacing of telltale, even if it’s more tailored.
