I don’t think they caused damage to the gaming community but they definitely hurt game journalism. People lost a lot of respect for it even though honestly most of it is fairly decent.

I'll never understand how there isnt any sort of screening or approval process for their uploads. Surely there's someone above them that has to sign off on it before its published everywhere.

Except the publisher of the Cuphead video outright admitted that they did not have any video games, savvy people there to play it. They only had a guy that worked in the tech side of their publishing not the video game side and have never really played a video game in 10+ years.

Yes Journalists did cause irreversible damage, Alien Isolation got review bombed because IGN struggled to get past the first 2 hours of gameplay where you literally meet no aliens, and because of that Alien Isolation 2 was almost canceled
