@yasarahmad_: Check the link in my bio to transform yourself, speak like an exec, get respected, manage toxic environments, get those raises and promotions. I'll send you a link to my 6 book bundle perfect to build you influence at work! Day 11 of 30. How to stop getting walked over at work, starting with the worst one: someone taking credit for your work in front of leadership. Don't flinch. Don't interrupt. Let them finish the sentence. Then, calm as anything, add the detail only the person who actually did the work could know. 'Just to build on that, when we dug into the numbers we found this specific thing, which is what drove the decision. Happy to walk through the analysis.' You didn't accuse anyone. You didn't get emotional. You dropped in a level of detail they couldn't have, because they didn't do the work. Leadership clocks it instantly, every time. Then after the meeting, one email: 'Good session, attaching the underlying work in case it's useful.' One timestamp. One quiet record. That's how you protect your work without ever raising your voice. Tomorrow, Day 12: how to deal with people you can't stand. Follow for more.

Lol. This reminds me of a meeting we had recently where the project manager was talking enthusiastically about an idea HE had that would move the project back on track. I simply asked him if he got his big idea just after he read the email I send him proposinging exactly that strategy. Everyone burst out laughing and the PM accepted gracefully that he might have been inspired. Since then I have been very vocally creditted (even to the high ups) about my contributions. I love your content my friend and I am learning so much.
