@stilleaworkinprogress: Mom explains the seeds of systemic racism: how history has shaped our present. The Constitution denies Black people their basic human rights, yet counts them as 3/5 of a person. The result? A compromise that rigged the House of Representatives and Electoral College. #politicstiktok #creatorsearchinsights #historytok #historytiktokcontest #america250tiktokcontest
I hate that I have learned more on TikTok than school. Thank you for this.

Can you do a video about America 250 and the disaster that was Freedom 250? There were two completely different planning committees for how America was going to celebrate the 250th anniversary? 😳 Congress established America250 back in 2016. Then Trump, being who he is, decided to make July 4th political and created Freedom 250—using $150M in taxpayer money for a UFC fight, that messy State Fair, and fireworks that literally leaked into July 5th. 💀 Meanwhile, Congress’s America250 actually focused on nationwide community and charity events. Absolute circus behavior 🎪😭 But it ties into erasing and rewriting American history with Trumps Freedom school bus tour. Look at George Washington’s message to the kids 👀

I remember learning about it, but I don't think teachers really gave the context to truly understand the impact.

In the UK we were taught this (and is still being taught) in GCSE. Or at least some schools teach it as it is an optional module
