@wil18son25: A message to parents in Papua New Guinea Dear parents, Our children are growing up in a world where mobile phones and social media are very powerful. These tools can be helpful for learning and staying connected, but they also carry serious risks when not guided properly. When children are given phones without supervision, many of them can easily spend too much time on social media. This can lead them to see negative content, develop unhealthy habits, and lose focus on important parts of life such as their education, family responsibilities, and spiritual growth. We are beginning to see that some young people are becoming less interested in school, less active in church and community life, and more distracted by online entertainment that does not build their future. This is why parents are encouraged to be careful and intentional. Before giving a child a phone, ask: Is my child ready to handle this responsibility? Will it help their learning, or will it distract them? It is okay to give a smartphones to the kids,but set clear rules, or if not, provide one bank phone for communication instead. What matters most is guiding children toward good habits, discipline, respect, education, and strong values. Let us protect our children’s future by guiding them wisely today.
