as someone that was once in religious psychosis, it can be caused by trauma, or mental health issues!! its very common with certain mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia!!

wtf ✌️💔 no I went into religious psychosis because I didn't want to believe that we just cease to exist once we die + I didn't want to go to hell (I was 10-12)

That’s one reason but assuming that’s the ONLY possible reason is insensitive. Other reasons can be illness, experiencing SA (or other abuse), a preexisting condition or just… psychosis.

As someone who went through religious psychosis, no. It was years of forcing and abuse that made me go into this psychosis. Although, that is my personal experience; people who had religious psychosis have different experiences

I don't understand how guilt makes me think I'm some kind of god that can see the demons around me and tell me that the demons hate the fact I can see them

No I just get uber paranoid and cling onto anything that takes my safety out of my hands and into someone who’s supposed to love me even conditionally.

uh so normally asking for forgiveness includes admitting you're wrong. you're supposed to acknowlege that you what you did was bad and ask for forgiveness. you dont just throw a sorry and hope it works

So this is wrong on so many levels. Not everyone that goes through religious psychotic episodes is for forgiveness. Sometimes they literally think they are a higher power or a messenger of sorts, or many other thoughts. Or they may think they're literally seeing or/and hearing a higher power.
