it's a figure of speech based on the history that most bosses were white. This is not done by only Xhosa ppl. Even a person with money, we say ngumlungu. Am Zulu/Swati...we say this all the time. I am a teacher, we even call our studenta..abelungu bethu cos we get paid through being in contact with them. it has nothing to do with worshipping whiteness.....rest baba
