Why not sell diag to find the leak, fix the issue and the customer doesn’t need to keep coming back?

Yeah that’s not how that works. If there’s a leak, the leak must be fixed along with buying new refrigerant. Should have started with diag to actually determine the problem before selling the customer a service.

I work in a busy a/c shop. We don’t charge a customer for the Freon if they have a leak and don’t do the repairs. We just empty their system.

recharge it with die and boom you see the leak. Then you sell them the fix. Evac and recharge and a diag are one in the same
