Ya Rabbi, I fell in love with one of Your servants. It was like an arrow hitting its target. Please do not let it be a test. Ya Allah, if You know that Islam is the best path for him, then open his heart to Your guidance. Remove every doubt from his heart and let him recognize the truth with sincerity. Guide him to Your straight path and make him among those whom You love and are pleased with. Ya Allah, soften his heart for me as You softened the iron for Dawuud (ʿalayhis-salām). If he is truly the best for my dunya, my deen, and my akhirah, then make him my naseeb. If he is not yet meant for me, then guide him first, strengthen his faith, and if it is best for us, unite us in the most beautiful halal way through marriage. Lower his gaze and mine, and keep us both away from haram. Ya Rabbi, accept every sincere du’a we make. If You know that we are خير (good) for one another in this life and the Hereafter, then write our names side by side and unite us through what pleases You. But if You know something better for us, then decree it with goodness, grant us contentment with Your decree, and never let our hearts drift away from You.
