I feel incredibly vulnerable sharing this, but if it helps even one person feel less alone or pushes them to seek answers, then it's worth it🤍 A few years ago, I was diagnosed with PCOS (also now referred to as PMOS). At the time, it felt like I finally had answers. But over the years, I've realised there was much more going on. I've been fighting to be taken seriously and to get investigated for endometriosis and that process is finally happening for me. PCOS & Endometriosis affects every part of my life. The constant pain, exhaustion, bloating, discomfort, cancelled plans, days spent recovering... it impacts so much more than people realise. Around 1 in 10 women are affected by endometriosis and/or PCOS, yet so many of us spend years fighting to be heard. On average, it takes 8–10 years to receive an endometriosis diagnosis. This means roughly 190 million women worldwide. In the UK alone, it affects approximately 1.5 million women. That's millions of women living in pain while waiting for answers. The longer it takes to diagnose, the greater the risk of worsening symptoms, complications, fertility issues and a lower quality of life. It shouldn't be this hard to access care for such a common condition. Women's pain is still too often dismissed. We need more awareness, earlier diagnosis, better treatment options and much more research into endometriosis and women's health. If any of these symptoms feel familiar, please don't ignore them. Keep advocating for yourself. You deserve to be listened to, you deserve answers and you deserve proper care. 🩷 #endometriosis #pcos #pmos #awareness #womenshealth
