My heart cries for you. This is the hardest, longest goodbye of them all. You are the strongest person in the room, holding back your tears while giving the information that your Grandma, somewhere deep inside knows! You will leave, spend 10 minutes in the car, realigning everything, but know this…you are her granddaughter, her biggest advocate and her cheerleader!

We are at the start of our dementia journey with my mother in law. The dementia nurse said the person may not remember your name or really who you are, but they can remember the love and warmth you have shown them and that you are a "safe" person. Your Nan clearly knows this x

she's so lucky to have you!! I used to work with care home managers and I was incredibly told a story about a man who didn't remember who his wife was but he knew she was kind and he felt safe around her. hold on to that sweet girl 🩷
