Sorry. But it has always been the “moon pie” for attempt #1. The fact nobody was paying close enough attention, baffles me. Coming from a major wwatcf fan. Every time I watched it, that darn “moon pie” got my attention. Every time. It has always been there.

It was a bar . Grandpa bought one , no ticket . Then Charlie buys a wonka bar & found a ticket. I have never ever heard of a moon pie 😳

I'm only 57 i watched that movie it was a chocolate bar that he bought at a shop the ticket was inside the wrapper. nothing to do with moon pie

it was a chocolate bar. he joked he won then snaps the bar and offers it to his family. it was the same one veruca salts father had everyone unwrapping. in the street he bought a sceumdiddilumptious with the money he found in the drain. there was no moon pie. I watched it so much I was gifted a vhr for Christmas my mom said "if I have to watch Willy Wonka one more time...."

In Roald Dahl's original book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie never opens a Moon Pie. Golden Tickets are hidden exclusively inside standard Wonka's Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight chocolate bars. The famous "Moon Pie" visual is from the 1971 movie adaptation, which used a pie-shaped confection for his birthday gift because a fudgemallow-delight bar didn't exist in that form at the time.

I remember Charlie getting a moon pie originally (or something that wasn’t a wonka bar), but then he managed to buy himself a Wonka bar, at a local shop, opened it in the street, and that’s how he got the golden ticket.

That was his birthday treat, it’s always been a moon pie I remember as a kid thinking why did he get a wagon wheel for his birthday. It was only a chocolate bar when grandpa Joe gave him money and when he found money in the street and went to the shop

Charlie's family saved up to give him a Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight for his birthday, not a Moon Pie. the gift had nothing to do with the golden ticket, it was meant to introduce the reader to the magical world of Wonka.
