To the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Education, It is time to take strict action against schools and colleges—both public and private—that force students to cut their hair or pressure them over their personal appearance. Educational institutions exist to provide education, not to control a student’s identity beyond what is reasonably necessary for discipline and safety. My college time are few hours. After that, I have my own personal life, responsibilities, and freedom. My hairstyle is part of my personal choice and does not affect my ability to study or respect others. Students should not be forced to change their appearance simply to satisfy outdated rules. I respectfully urge the Government of Nepal to introduce clear national guidelines that protect students from unnecessary pressure regarding hairstyles and personal appearance. Schools and colleges should focus on academic performance, discipline, and character—not on controlling a student’s haircut. Education should build confidence, not take away individuality. It is time for change.
