The Boosie and Rod Wave situation is BACK after Rod sat down with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay and spoke about how differently he views some of the older artists he once respected. He didn’t have to say much for people to connect it back to his issues with Boosie over music. But Boosie wants to know: Why are we talking about this again NOW when Rod Wave has an album coming?! According to Boosie, they had already been communicating, things were cordial, and Rod allegedly offered him $150,000, not $100,000 to resolve their dispute. Now Boosie says Rod is suddenly bringing the situation back up publicly. And Boosie DID NOT STOP THERE! He called Rod a “serial stealer,” accused him of repeatedly using other artists’ music and lyrics, and even brought up Lyfe Jennings, who has publicly discussed his own issue over Rod’s use of his music. Boosie also came for Rod’s CONTENT, saying he makes all this depressing heartbreak music that has everybody sad, only to turn around and claim he’s never actually had his heart broken! Now, Boosie said ChatGPT told him Rod has done this with 31 artists. My opinion? Sampling is obviously nothing new in music, but when you’re using recognizable lyrics, melodies or other protected material, handle the business and get everybody cleared and paid.
