I disagree. I’ve had friends say to me, “I am so jealous of you and I’m so happy for you.” It’s the ability to hold multiple sentiments at the same time and to state them authentically that is meaningful. I have since of the same thing to other people. It’s natural to feel jealous when somebody has something that you want and friends often do. If that jealousy leads to maliciousness, then I would agree. But if that jealousy can be held with warm and loving feelings, that’s a very different story and a very different person.
