@taylorlrabe: Wolves and grizzly bears coexist quite peacefully in Yellowstone. But when one or the other gets too close for comfort, a definite boundary is established. Often, I think the way these interactions unfold is entirely based on the personalities of each individual involved. I’ve seen large grizzly bears stand their ground and lay on carcasses for up to a week at a time, defending their prize and deciding who gets to come in and get a piece. I’ve also seen wolves nip at the hind end of bears and gently escort them out of the area. The stubbornness of each critter really dictates the outcome of each encounter. It’s incredible to witness the interactions between two large carnivores, and Yellowstone is so unique that we have the opportunity to observe these types of behaviors pretty regularly. The gasps of horror in this interaction from nearby visitors makes me laugh 😛 #wolf #grizzlybear #yellowstone #bear #wolves
