Soares, a Portuguese national and director of South West Commercial Cleaning Services Ltd, abused his access. At the same time, his company was contracted to provide cleaning services at Elmfield School for Deaf Children on Greystoke Avenue, Westbury-on-Trym. On one occasion, Soares trapped and sexually assaulted the victim, who was not a pupil at the school, inside one of the campus bathrooms. The brave victim reported the violations to the police on May 11, 2022, leading to Soares' arrest in Wiltshire on May 29, 2022. He consistently denied the allegations, forcing the survivor to endure a long four-year delay before facing him at trial. A jury at Bristol Crown Court rejected his denials and convicted him of three counts of sexual assault by touching. Soares has been released on bail ahead of his formal sentencing hearing.
