Beautifully told. I've recently been deep in researching Inanna, and I was amazed by how many layers this myth has. I personally lean towards the oldest Sumerian versions, where the descent begins with Gugalanna's death. The Anunnaki pass judgment. And Ereshkigal's compassion becomes central to Inanna's return. The psychological interpretations are fascinating too, I just don't think there's a single "correct" reading of a story this old. Which makes it a wonderful story to dive in. 🙏✨️✨️✨️
