Annoyingly, for people who are acne-prone, you are always more likely to purge from something than you are not, simply because purging is the skin breaking out from small impurities that were already there and are going to become blemishes later on. However, it's important to remember that only some products cause a purge. Anything that breaks up dead skin cells or sebum comes with a purging risk. For example, exfoliants or retinoids. However, things that don't come with this risk are moisturisers, sunscreens, and cleansers that aren't exfoliating. I see a lot of misinformation about the skin needing to adapt to a new product, which comes with a purging period, but this is simply not true unless it's a retinol, exfoliant, or something like azelaic acid, which can barely be classed as that. #azelaicacid #skincare #glassskin
