Pringles are not really potato. I believe they’re mostly rice.

Crisps were invented when a picky customer at a restaurant kept sending back their chips saying they were too thick. The chef quickly got annoyed and decided to cut the potato incredibly thin, fry it, season it and serve it to try and annoy the customer even more. Instead the customer loved them and that was how crisps were invented.
