Take time to learn about Hawaiian culture and history. Visit the Bishop Museum and ʻIolani Palace to better understand the people and stories that make these islands so special. Practice mālama ʻāina—care for the land and ocean that care for us. Wear reef-safe sunscreen, stay on marked trails, never take rocks, sand, or coral, and always pick up your ʻōpala (trash), even if it isn’t yours. Support local whenever you can. Eat at locally owned restaurants, shop from small businesses, and choose local tour operators and artists. Skip supporting Dole and instead spend your money with the people and businesses that directly support Hawaiʻi’s communities. Most importantly, be kind and respectful to the locals, the culture, wildlife, and the ʻāina. A little respect goes a long way, and it helps keep Hawaiʻi beautiful for future generations.

My little family and I already also pcs’ing from Texas to Hawaii ! We leave in September and it’s so stressful preparing but I’m excited for the adventure !!🥰 reach out if you need help with anything I’ll do my best but we are also trying to learn as we go! 😂

We were in Italy for 3 years, explore as much as you can, eat all the foods! Venture out of your comfort zone you’ll be surprised what you experience! Once it’s gone it’s gone, take advantage of being there and respect the wildlife and people! You’ll have a blast! Good luck!

Was my husbands last pcs before he retired and where our babies were born 🥹. We lived in Red Hills gated apartment before we moved in housing because that community had an elementary school our oldest attended. Was a great hike and they always had great activities. Best beach we always went to was on the windward side Kualoa Regional Park, cuz it was quiet and the water was super clear and you had a great view of China mans hat. You will love this beach as much as I did with my kids. This was my special place away from the tourists that was perfect.

Aww congrats 💛 I’ve heard mil housing can have long waitlists for some. I’ve heard great things about staying at Hale Koa in town vs on base hotels. KBay on base housing is so pretty, there’s also some pretty neighborhoods inside gates of JBPHH and Ford Island is lovely! Makakilo/Mililani is great if you wanted to purchase a condo/townhouse but the traffic will be rough sometimes. The traffic will also be rough from Honolulu sometimes. If you don’t have interest in purchasing and can do off base housing Kailua, Kaneohe, Hawaii Kai, Kahala, or Manoa are so sweet.
