As an American who hasn’t been to Ireland, it’s unfortunately true. We just are using what we know to compare I think. But I love this because it (obviously) fits so much better than what I imagined (Americanized) and I like it more now

actually lizzie does wear a lot of makeup, just not consistently. shannon specifically says in the first book that lizzie could be wearing no makeup with her hair in a messy bun and a boys uniform on one day and then the next she'll be in full glam, heels, and a skirt. it literally just depends on her mood so saying she wesr little to no makeup is mischaracterizing her /no hate
