@building_bridget: Exactly how we did it below 👇 1️⃣ WATER SOURCE This could be hose-end sprinklers, in ground sprinklers (like we did), or maybe you already have them installed! This is a must for keeping your lawn low maintenance, we installed sprinklers with regular 3/4” PVC and a @Rain Bird Corp system 2️⃣ LOOSEN DIRT We have a rototiller that we used, you can rent one of the more industrial sized ones or even just buy one of the smaller non-motorized ones for a budget option! 3️⃣ SEED We used @Scotts Lawn seed and it’s been great for us. Spread by hand or get one of nifty spreaders for an even easier job. 4️⃣ (OPTIONAL) FERTILIZE Not necessary but helps to get a fuller, healthier lawn quicker. Our bag was $35 and we used a FRACTION of it. 5️⃣ ROLL/RAKE/COVER The goal here is just to push the seeds into the dirt a bit so you can either roll them in like we did, rake them in lightly, or cover with a thin layer of top soil. ‼️IMPORTANT: LIGHT foot traffic for the first 4-6 weeks and after that you can treat it mostly like a regular lawn! 👉 Next up is our secret garden project where we turn this totally unused side yard area into a cozy garden retreat.
