Have seen serious videos where they have tested same phones for a long period charging to 100% and charging to 80%. The effect of not charging to 100% was minimal.

I have used my phone for 7 years and charged it at nights.. no problem with the battery, after 8 years time to replace the battery

But 100% is an arbitrary number. One phone could be 100% at 3.85 and thr other at 3.75. The voltage is important. The percentage is just a calculation. Just as another interesting point, not disagreeing.

treat your battery like your engines rev counter. if you keep it at full throttle for long periods then it damages and wears the engine faster.

I have had many cell phones over the last 30 years (yes early Mororola's) and what kills batteries the fastest is draining them all the way down or below 30% all the time. going to 100% doesnt seem to affect them much. however I have my Samsung set to stop at 95% anyways

Enough is enough :
That’s why I deviate from Tesla’s recommendations for my LFP. I don’t keep the charge limit at 100%. I put it on 100% once a week for the calibration. I usually use 40 to 60% a week.

When I had a landline, the phone was kept in its charging cradle when not being used. Assuming the battery was NiCad or NiMH, I wonder how the battery was affected by this process.
