He probably didn't have it "wedged" under that lip. If you have your laptop open on the tray and the chair in front of you lays back quickly that lip is going to pinch down on the top of the screen

I will genuinely never understand those that get mad about reclining. If you also recline your seat, you have the exact same amount of space you had to begin with. It’s a feature on the seat that is supposed to be used. It’s wild to expect otherwise.

This almost happened to me. The tables are getting smaller and smaller. If someone readjusts in their seat in front everything moves on your table. It’s not the persons fault, it’s the design of the table.

I think it’s fair to give the person warning before you do it… Just because of drinks, computers, and maybe leaning forward with their head, etc.… But definitely have the right to recline afterwards. It’s kind of common courtesy and awareness.

I’m so baffled by the comments section that is blaming the user of the laptop for the fact it broke?! Like put yourself in their shoes and imagine if it was your laptop that you now had to drop a load of money on repairing or replacing because of someone else’s actions

these comments ain't it, if someone breaks someone else's stuff they should have to pay for it, a tray is meant to be used whether it's food,book, tablet etc., someone reclines (their right as they did pay for the seat) and it breaks someones possession on the tray that isn't the tray persons fault they have the right to use their tray just like the person I'm front has the right to recline be considerate of ours, the world already sucks and humanity is just getting worse.
