y’all also have to realize if the epidural doesn’t go right they can become paralyzed, so if someone doesn’t want to do that it’s very understandable.

im so glad i can say I birthed like a mtha fking queen from the medievil times. epidurals didnt exist back then while also women birthed under trees, in huts and during wars. I feel like its even a luxury birthing on a labour bed today. We have it all but we still choose to go natural and unmedicated because thats how nature has been since the beginning.

What pain relief is offered in the US? It always seems likes it’s an epidural or nothing. Gas and air in the UK is wonderful.

I love giving birth. I know that’s niche but if you breathe and lean into labor it doesn’t hurt as badly! 🥰 it’s tough to do the first time though. You don’t know what to expect yet.

I’ve given birth with and without the epidural. Of course without is more painful. But, without it I was able to move about, and had no complications and my baby came out very awake and ready to go. Any medication/ pain relief CAN have side affects, maybe the mums who have don’t want an epidural are worried about that or have reasons for themselves

Anesthesia here. Always get the epidural early. You’ll feel better and we aren’t behind you trying to hit a moving target while you’re writhing in pain. Nevertheless, congratulations!
