I think the problem is the entire summer aniya HAS been telling her to move on. that first soul ties conversation where he was smooching with sol for hours Aniya was in the corner telling Melanie to move on and pull someone. melanie did want to pull corbin but Kenzie guilted her out of it (she obviously liked corbin so unsurprising but still) during casa all the girls were backing her to pick Corey over sincere. at every turn melanie says "this is the last time" and then goes back to him. So I'm guessing at this point the core 4 were simply trying to be supportive and enjoy their last week together before the summer ended. no one really knew Melanie did actually have more of a drive to leave because it's been circular conversations where she never listens to their advice.
