@aisletotokyo: Full Recipe↓ Day 1/100 | SHOGAYAKI (GINGER PORK) 🛒 INGREDIENTS: - Pork loin: 250g - Salt, pepper, and flour: A little of each - Ginger: 1 knob - Onion: 50g - Garlic: 1 clove [Seasonings] - White wine: 3 1/2 tbsp - Sugar: 1 tbsp - Soy sauce: 1 1/2 tbsp 🧑🍳 METHOD: 1. Season pork with salt and pepper 2. Dust pork with flour and tap off excess 3. Thinly slice onion and garlic; grate ginger 4. Mix grated ginger with seasonings 5. Sauté pork in oil over medium heat until browned 6. Flip meat, add onion and garlic, and sauté until tender 7. Add sauce and toss to coat for a while in low heat 💡 KEY POINTS: - In this recipe, we're swapping traditional Sake and Mirin for white wine and sugar in a certain conversion formula. As a Japanese home cook, I assure you it works perfectly to replicate the authentic taste. Only one simple rule you need to follow: 👉 Make sure to use a DRY and LOW-ACIDITY WINE (e.g. Pinot Gris). A cheap one is fine, but avoid using fruity wine. - Most of the standard European supermarkets stock Soy Sauce. 👉 Grab the KIKKOMAN brand if you can (Tesco stocks it). It’s the absolute standard used in Japan. ⚠️ DISCLAIMER: Not affiliated with or endorsed by TESCO. #shogayaki #JapaneseRecipes #JapaneseCooking #EasyRecipe #Tesco

This looks delicious! My eldest daughter moved to Japan earlier this year and I will make these to feel more connected to her. Maybe one day we will eat the same dinner without knowing 😊
