Last year PD never informed my place of work about a robbery at g.un point NEXT DOOR. I had to go ask a guy to move his car as it was blocking our entrance… it was an unmarked cop car and plain clothes officer investigating said crime, “they’ll be gone soon”. As the day progressed, we watched out the window, they’re using our lot to park officers and detectives, they shutdown the main road going past, large r.ifles, b.ullet proof vests, drones… over 30 marked and unmarked cars lined the street… turns out the guys hid ACROSS THE STREET from us/the store they robbed. Watched them bust down the door and bring them out in handcuffs. PD never once asked us anything, checked if we were included, told us to get away from the giant window facing their operation… Boss called about it, quote “it’s our own responsibility if we felt unsafe to get away from the window”…

I grew up in Bay Shore on union and this was a daily occurrence. It really shaped my childhood, especially when the s*♤ worker was found in the dumpster. I have so many stories. Bay Shore is only for characters and criminals and now they have marketed it to the hip young generation but don't disclose it's still not the safest place.

I love how the police just don’t bother letting anyone know what’s up either. We had a full on manhunt next door at night once (it was a drug house I was used to shenanigans) but it’s dark, like 10pm, I’m home alone with 4 kids and I go shower excited the day is over and here’s a kid interrupting my shower to let me know the cops are outside. And he was serious there was 16(!!!!) cop cars lining the road and a helicopter with its search light going and like…I got nothing. No knock to let me know to lock doors, nobody came to talk to me just in the house terrified with a bunch of kids alone.
