I’m no shrink, but I think sometimes this is because inconvenient situations are safe enough for negative emotions, but in serious emergencies you lock in because you know you have to, and I think people that panic probably haven’t had to get themselves through anything too serious so they have a thin skin for their situations

No exactly this because my wife yelled “fire” from across the house and I knew she was cooking bacon so figured it was a grease fire so I sprinted in, grabbed the flour, and put the fire out like it was nothing but I cried on the bathroom floor because she used my name instead of baby in a text and I thought she didn’t love me anymore. 🙄

Me being so calm at work when the craziest shit is happening and I'm calm and having the time of my life vs when my boss tells me I made a tiny mistake and is not mad at me at all or anything and I try not to cry 😂

I think it’s cuz with big things there is usually a well known way to settle it. Like a fire, 911, fire extinguisher, blanket. But with smaller problems there is more room for it to be unique enough that you don’t have a way to settle it.

i was the only chill one when my family got stranded without our luggage or a place to stay after our flight turned around bc of a hurricane but i cried bc my favorite spoon was in the dishwasher and i wanted ice cream

I almost started crying because Dutch Bros ran out of small cups and I couldn't stand the idea of my small portion being in a medium cup.......mind you I work as an RBT and have bite bruises where I reacted calmer than that
