Max Moreno III :
My biggest concern is how the finite try to explain the infinite. How can the finite, and limited in capacity human brain know, understand and conceptualize the infinite?
Take for example one finite creation that for all of human time in existence and history still cannot know fully, explore fully nor understand fully and it’s been here in existence since the dawn of creation. I’m talking about the ocean(s).
While it has boundaries that are limited, depths that are limited and expansions that are limited, we as a native species have not been able to understand it fully and completely.
Now let’s take this fact and use it in an analogy. Say the ocean(s) is God (again we are using an analogy) and we are a 12oz container, which means, we are limited to 12 full ounces of space to be filled. We can take that container to the ocean(s) and fill it up completely and say we have filled it with ocean water, nevertheless we cannot claim we have filled the container with the entire ocean(s), why?
While we have ocean water in it, there is no way the entire ocean can fit in it and while it technically has ocean water in it, it is limited to only 12 ounces.
God is infinite and infinitely greater than what we have the capacity to know, understand and conceive yet we boast about describing and confidently explaining what we cannot comprehend, understand or conceive.
We say God is one person or three persons,…. God is and that ought to be the extent of our attempt to understand or explain. We know nothing, we can’t even begin to scratch the surface of knowing the ocean(s) which is a creation just like us and we are so arrogant in saying we know God.
We cannot know at this present time like Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 13. But the time will come when we will know. Jesus said I go ahead of you to prepare a place for you so that where I am you will also be. (Spoiler alert) he wasn’t talking about mansions but he was talking about our new and glorified bodies that he will give us when we are with him at his return. We will be transformed in a twinkling of an eye, the mortal will be dressed in immortality, in other words the finite will have life everlasting for eternity.
