Also none of these comments are taking into account the fact that the cost of labor is significantly less in most of these other countries. The cost of supplies for these restaurants is significantly less in the countries that these commenters are thinking of. The upcharge required to make this concept successful in the US would not be tolerated for much of middle class America. It just wouldn’t be. I’m not unsupportive of a living wage for anyone, but we have set up a system and an economy where this idealistic vision is just not possible the way these commenters want it.
