When you drive to Banff, drive from Calgary to Longview and then take Hwy 40 to Canmore. Stop at Buffalo Trading Post in Longview. Eat at the Wildwood in Diamond Valley. Turn off the Hwy to see Kananaskis Lakes. If you are brave enough to drive on gravel, take Hwy 742 for the most amazing views. Just stop when inspiration strikes. As a former Calgarian living now in gnv fl, LOLL its a huge food city!! Definitely dont overlook even places like A&W, it might be “fast food” but even Calgary fast food beats ANY florida food, hands down.

You have to go to pick a horse Canyon and take the height of Toca Falls is the highest falls in the Rockies and you can go right up to it. It is absolutely amazing and there a lake is there there’s so many beautiful walks in that area. It’s amazing.

Not sure if this is what you're here for but I noticed you like crochet. If you have some down time, stroll through Inglewood and check out STASH needle art lounge. There are also a ton of cute vintage shops, and I highly recommend Inglewood Drive In for a quick bite. Make sure you get some fries!

You must go to the Chuckwagon races and Indigenous relay at the Stampede followed by the Grandstand Show - one ticket and a night of amazing fun.

go to Emerald Lake. calgary - Kensington Rent Escooters and ride the bow river bike path to Bowness and back downtown.

Don’t just stop at Banff. go a little further to Yoho national park too - Takakkaw Falls, Lake Emerald and Natural Bridge. Go to Golden and maybe if you have time the suspension bridge there.

Kananaskis Nordic spa is a huge treat! Calgary tower, Inglewood walk around, Peters Drive in for burgers,Major Tom- hope you feel welcome and have the best time!

Definitely check out Canmore, unrated town close to Banff. Also, Quarry lake and Lake minnewanka boat cruise. Have fun! ❤️

Go for a really nice vibey cocktail at stable palms club in Kensington and go to Canmore- walk the policeman creek trail it’s very easy and incredible views. IMO it’s better than Banff.

American living in calgary. go to the zoo if you have time. Definitely recommend lake moraine if you can get some bus tickets. if you want to be a little less people in the mountains but still shop check out canmore (the main street)
