quick question. where does the trillions, or just billions, of dollars in taxes come from? roughly 98% of the populations combined wealth is less than 1billion.

the rich should have to pay taxes every year on their assets at their current market value, "unrealized gains" be damned

We invented our entire tax system. There's no reason we can't change things. All it takes is will.

its all about unrealised income... but the loan needs the bank to agree that the shares have value. surely, at the point the bank gives the loan, fhe shares have realised their value so should be taxed at that point? (yeah I know it will never happen)

A significantly higher tax rate should be applied to non-liquid assets used for ts. And a massive estate tax increase for them, too

Nah, you forgot the best part. They avoid capital gains because when it's given to the next person through after the pass, the asset is reset as though they had just invested in it, meaning all the tax we could have collected on it becomes unrecoverable

I am a huge proponent of not taxing their income but taxing specifically the loan transactions on top of forcing them to recognize gains during that transaction.

this is why we need to make the system as such. you either CANNOT loan based off unrealized profits or money. meaning no loans based off stocks. and no loans based off assets. they have to have the on hand capital to loan. or they get taxed on unrealized profits like stocks and assets and at the old rate when america was actually great before Reaganomics protected the rich from paying the same percent as the poor. meaning 94%
