@allthethingscollective: Think you need a garden to start canning? Think again. 🌱❌ One of my favorite pantry hacks is buying affordable #10 cans from my local Amish store and preserving them into smaller, shelf-stable jars. It saves money, reduces waste, and gives me convenient portions that are ready whenever I need them. Home canning isn’t just for gardeners—it’s for anyone who wants a stocked pantry, less food waste, and the convenience of having meals and ingredients ready to go. This is one of the easiest ways I’ve found to build a pantry without growing a single vegetable. #HomeCanning #BeginnerCanning #PantryGoals #ShelfStable
Everyone talking about taking already preserved food and then canning it saying it’s a waste of time is ridiculous. You’re taking some large quantity and breaking it down to meet your family’s needs is not a waste of time or money. And who cares it’s your time and if you’re anything like me, it grounds you. It gives you peace of mind that when you need something in a smaller portion, you have it at your fingertips. And it’s something that you enjoy doing. I was just wishing this Fourth of July weekend that I had something to can because I was in that frame of mine, but I didn’t have anything. I plan on going to my bulk local store and doing the same thing that you are doing. Thank you!…totally not a waste of time!

Do what works for you! I have taken canned pineapple, freeze it and there you have fruit for smoothies and less than the frozen bags.

I get the #10 cans and make all kinds of things, pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce. I’m curious about the queso and nacho cheese. Is your canner water bath or pressure? Can you show the white queso and nacho cheese cans. All we have a Costco and they do carry the cheese sauce and I’m curious about the canning times. Thanks

So I think I can ask can I pressure can outside on a table? I’m a little nervous about doing it indoors.
