I wouldn’t call Bear a villain, but he’s definitely not a good person. The moment he tries to alter the wish instead of canceling it tells you everything you need to know about his character.

yeah have to disagree here, Bear is not at fault for his wish because he didn’t realise what it actually meant (maybe a little selfish) but he was the villain when he CONTINUOUSLY ignored Nikki’s MULTIPLE SIGNS that she did not have agency in his actions. yes their friend group had drama, yes Bear was not immediately the villain, but he definitely became one as the movie kept going.

Finally, someone who actually watched the film. Also, she did everything she could to get him into the get-together. He said no, and then she said it was her final night. She also initiated the call. Then the car situation gave the signs. It's great writing to me cause somebody was lying.

I agree with most of the things said in the video, but Bear is definitely the villain, even if most, if not all, of his actions could be chalked up to him having no spine, he's still a fully grown ass adult that continuously made horrible choices

Nah... writing Bear off and minimizing him as a pssy is not it. He hit a point when he absolutely becomes the villain, he's just unfortunately too relatable for deeply insecure people who have suffered from extreme loneliness and isolation. The others are flawed and crappy people, but he surpasses them. Flattening it into "well they're all terrible" is super reductive compared to the violence Bear is literally responsible for
