These freedoms were purchased through the sacrifice, courage, and service of many who came before us, and they deserve our gratitude and remembrance. As Christians, we also remember that our greatest freedom was not won on a battlefield. It was won at the cross. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been set free from the power of sin and given the hope of eternal life. While we celebrate the liberties of our nation, we rejoice even more in the freedom that can never be taken away.
