@sashapawstx: Remember Raven? She spent over a year in the shelter, waiting for someone to choose her. Day after day, she watched people walk by her kennel, hoping one of them would finally be her person. As time went on, the shelter environment started taking a toll on her, and she began showing signs of kennel stress. Then, a foster family gave her the time she needed. What they discovered was an incredible dog. Raven is fully potty trained, incredibly sweet, and happiest when she’s close to her people. She’s the kind of dog who follows you from room to room, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing. She’s a true velcro dog. She has been amazing with her foster family’s 2-year-old child. She’s gentle, patient, and doesn’t mind all the love and attention a toddler gives her. She also loves being outside. Walks are one of her favorite things. She may get excited and pull on the leash at first, but she quickly settles in and enjoys the adventure. She recently discovered a splash pad at the park and had the best time playing in the water! Raven has also done well with her foster siblings. Her foster family believes she does best with more submissive dogs, and once she felt comfortable, she learned that playing with other dogs could be fun. Her foster family got to see the real Raven, a loving, loyal, playful girl who simply needed a chance outside the shelter. She didn’t need fixing. She just needed someone to see past the kennel.
