@bloodfirejeff: I used a gift card to Longfellow Books to pick up three books I’ve been meaning to get to for a while. Stoner by John Williams is the quiet story of a man who spends his whole life slightly out of place, and is supposed to be devastating! (@Booksaresick for the rec) Hard Rain Falling by Don Carpenter is two teenagers surviving on the margins of Portland, OR, a heist gone wrong, and a redemption that keeps moving just out of reach. (@Chris Dougherty for this rec) And Butcher’s Crossing, also by Williams is about a Harvard dropout chasing Emerson’s idea of nature into the Colorado Rockies, and finding something much, much darker waiting there. Three highly rec’d books, and I look forward to a pit stop out of fantasy/sci-fi! I love you Longfellow Books! - Support your local indie bookstore. 📚 #BookTok #books #newbooks #bookhaul #classics
