@rahmamohamad078: I am writing this letter with a heavy heart. almost every day, i open my phone, watch the news, or scroll through social media, only to learn that another young somali man has been killed by another young somali man. whether it happens in somalia, europe, or anywhere else in the world, it is always the same heartbreaking story. every day, i hear about a brother who will never return home, a mother mourning her son, a sister grieving her brother, and a family whose life will never be the same again. and every single time, my heart breaks a little more. I know that many of you carry wounds that the world cannot see. you have grown up surrounded by war, displacement, poverty, separation, and hardships that no child should ever have to endure. i know that some of you never had the chance to experience a peaceful childhood or receive the love and security that every child deserves. i am not here to judge your pain, because i know it is real. If my words can reach your heart, let this be the one thing you remember: please, do not wage war against one another.! No clan, no anger, no argument is worth the life of a brother. no knife, no gun, no act of revenge will ever heal a mother’s broken heart after losing her child. every young somali life that is lost is a dream cut short, a family shattered, and a piece of our people’s future taken away. When i think of you, i do not picture you in a cemetery or behind prison walls. i picture you in classrooms, at universities, in hospitals, on construction sites, in businesses, building your future, supporting your parents, protecting your families, and helping our community grow. I need you to stay alive. The world needs to see what young somalis are truly capable of. you are intelligent, courageous, kind, and capable of achieving extraordinary things. please do not let a few moments of anger destroy an entire lifetime. As a somali woman, i want to be proud of my brothers. i want to tell my future children that somali men are men of courage, respect, dignity, and kindness. i want you to be the men who protect their communities, who reach out to their brothers, and who choose to build instead of destroy. Please choose life. choose education. choose hard work. choose peace. choose to stand beside one another instead of fighting each other. I want you to know one thing. Iam proud of you. And despite everything i hear and see every day, i will never stop believing in you. because i know you are worth so much more than this violence. i know you have immense hearts, incredible strength, and limitless potential. To me, you are among the finest men in the world—not because you are perfect, but because i know everything you have survived and everything you are still capable of becoming. I love every one of you as i love my own brothers. I believe in you. and with all my heart, i hope that one day the world will speak about young somalis because of their achievements, their intelligence, their courage, and their humanity—not because they lost their lives far too soon. Take care of yourselves. Take care of your brothers. because your life is precious—more precious than any anger, any clan, or any desire for revenge.!!❤️🩹🫂 #somaligirls #hargeysa #somali #somaliarmy

A lot of the violence comes from cycles of revenge. When someone loses a brother, son, or friend, the pain and anger can lead to retaliation, which then causes more families to suffer. But revenge only creates more loss and keeps the cycle going. Breaking that cycle is one of the hardest but most important things for any community ❤️🔥☝🏻 I hope one day we have a better government, stronger communities, and more opportunities for our youth. Too many lives have been lost to violence and revenge. May Allah bring peace, justice, and unity to our people

Healing Through Change :
This broke my heart. No mother should have to bury her son, and no family should have to live with this pain. Our lives are precious, and we have to do better—for ourselves, our families, and the generations to come. May Allah guide us and protect our people. Ameen.🥰🥰🥰
