I'll raise you this: I don't think wanting to be attractive to men is inherently anti or non-feminist. If you're attracted to men, wanting to be attractive to them is simply natural and shouldn't be contradictory to not centering them. Therefore, even if you shave your legs for the purpose of being attractive to a man rather than "for yourself", that does not make you any less of a feminist, because at the end of the day, you still did it for yourself.

i am a lesbian who also shaves my legs 😭 because contrary to popular belief we ALSO most of the time prefer the look of clean shaved legs aswell. i don’t think that means that we were conditioned into it. we just appreciate effort. shaving is an effort, doing your hair and makeup is an effort. and we can appreciate these things. not everything women like or do is patriarchal. we are also free thinkers with preferences :0

This is the world we live in, regardless of how we want it to be. That means that makeup and wanting to look pretty may be a direct result of patriarchy. HOWEVER, I don’t have to dissect it completely. I can just like makeup. I can just like feeling pretty. How is not shaving your legs not realistic or practical? How is not wearing makeup or adhering to patriarchal standards not practical? Not doing those things are the easiest and most low effort practices you can do if ur a feminist. Sure, shave ur legs, wear the makeup, pander to men, play into gender roles but that cannot exist alongside you being a feminist.
