tbh this a big nothing caused by a lot of misinformation. Oar fish are referred to as the "doomsday fish" by the Japanese because they live deep in the ocean and are thought to indicate when a tsunami or great earthquake is approaching because the natural disasters cause them to rise and leave their natural deep habitat. it's not actually cursed. it's like seeing earth worms come out cause of the rain and saying "oh no its cursed and evil!" the weather just effects oarfish.

It’s literally a myth 💀 it’s been debunked that those fish are a warning of natural disaster. They usually swim to surface because they are injured or disoriented or sick. So no they shouldn’t eat it but to say it’s some sort of curse is pushing it

Do you know that fish basically explodes due to the pressure of living in the bottom of the ocean and being dragged to the top? It doesn’t look like that originally.
