I wouldn’t describe myself as aggressively patriotic for a plethora of reasons but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt to see the 250th anniversary of our nation made a mess by this administration. I mourn the vision of what a true celebration of our nation could’ve looked like under a competent administration…. LIKE IT WAS OUR 25th BIRTHDAY 😭😭😭 WE WERE SUPPOSED TO LIVE IT UP 😭😭😭

I remember learning the preamble in Middle School. Our history teacher did a line by line breakdown of it to explains some of the antiquated language. Then we had to memorize it and recite it in front of the class

I tuned DC out & had a great local 4th of July here in Northern California. This year would have been my Dad’s 85th birthday, so I listened to his fav music, including Fielder & the Boston Pops & thought about 4th of July celebrations of the past. He was a proud Veteran, though he later protested the war. He was a ROTC student & grateful for his college education.

It is worth a congressional investigation as America 250 & the state/local humanities orgs who were promised $ for history, arts, service projects were quite literally robbed. The goal of Freedom 250 was to not allow we, the people, to celebrate/commemorate our country.
