I'm pretty sure the reason why it ended like that was because for 1 of 3 reasons 1 the animation studio olm(you know for pokemon) ran out of the budget they needed so they were forced to stop,2 olm probably wanted to focus more on pokemon and other projects so they stopped animating berserk and 3 they ran out of chapters to adapt to the anime and I will add a bonus that they just stopped with no reason
