At some point I think long covid is gonna get a different name; I truly have all similar symptoms but have hEDS, POTs and Psoriatic Arthitis with high inflammatory markers. Think it’s gonna be autoimmune

Ty for linking the sources! Not calling you pop science, but in general it’s hard to tell what’s facts and not exaggerating, esp when there’s not a lot of info about long covid and mecfs out there

Yes!! My ME initially presented as repeating mono. Every couple months I’d get full blown mono symptoms for weeks. And no one could figure it out.

From my understanding, post-viral infection disorders and disease isn’t a new concept. I don’t know the exact history, but I’m a bit confused how it hasn’t been sorted out already either long covid and expected and a treatment plan for post-viral patients to receive. Instead long covid clinics seemed reactive, as opposed to proactive, and largely have been a joke not offering any meaningful assistance or treatment just referring patients from there to OT, PT, and psychiatry.

My EBV got reactivated last Feb after quitting an extremely stressful/toxic job. Dealt with fatigue all year but didn’t know what caused it at the time. Then I got Covid for the 4th-5th time in Dec and that triggered ME/CFS. I know it’s not currently the EBV bc I got antigen tests done but I think my immune system was already weakened by it, and then Covid set it off 😮💨😔

Okay, but from everything I know about all of my medical records I have never had it. Never contracted mono or been treated for it. We do however suspect I have HEDS, Endometriosis, POTS, Fibromyalgia, and possibly MCAS. I got covid for the 4th time in 2025 and have had continued decline of mobility and heamth consistent with ME/CFS since. With what they're saying about long covid actually like AIDS I think it's gonna be classified as a highly contagious autoimmune causing virus.

I discovered the studies a couple of years ago. Had my neurologist test for EBV reactivation and yep! Reactivated. I've been sick since November 2021 and finally got in to see a Long COVID specialist at the Ohio State University in March of this year. The only thing that has remotely helped is breath work. I'm currently working with a functional medicine doctor and playing around with supplements and nutrition and hoping that something there helps. The fatigue is awful. I have narcolepsy and my doctor prescribed me Adderall in addition to my narcolepsy medication and I can nap an hour or two after taking Adderall. I would be happy with a 25-50% improvement because I can't live like this long term. Praying something works.

Thankyou for explaining.. I have a severe CSF , spinal fluid leak .. I do have connective tissue disease, I have POTS , MCAS , I do believe viruses 🦠 start something 👌

i have high titers of covid spike protein and EBV and haven’t tested positive for either since 2020. diagnosed ME this year

I tested negative for antibodies for it never had mono or lyme or hpv/hiv or sny other chronic conditions besides viral bronchitis that lasted 3 months.
